Fertile-Beltrami E-Learning Plan

Subdivision 1. Days

"E-learning day" means a school day where a school offers full access to online instruction provided by students' individual teachers due to inclement weather. Fertile-Beltrami may implement up to five e-learning days in one school year. An e-learning day is counted as a day of instruction and included in the hours of instruction under section 120A.41.

Subdivision 2. Plan

Teachers will inform students and parents about their e-learning lessons before the first e-learning day. The plan will be communicated verbally to students and through a parent letter. Fertile-Beltrami will create a web page with a link under the student tab on the school’s web site. This page will contain a link to each teacher’s e-learning day lesson. The lesson will be within the scope and sequence of the curriculum that would have been delivered as if it were a regular school day. Students who do not have a digital device with internet access will be provided with the educational resources and assignments on the next regular school day. These students will have two days to turn in any assignments from an e-learning day. Accommodations will be made to meet the needs of students on an IEP/504 plan. Teachers will be accessible via phone and email from 8-4 on all e-learning days.

Subdivision 3. Annual Notice

The school district will notify parents and students of the e-learning day plan at the beginning of the school year through the school calendar and District Website.

Subdivision 4. Daily Notice

On an e-learning day declared by the school, the school district will notify parents and students at least two hours prior to the normal school start time that students need to follow the e-learning day plan for that day.

Subdivision 5. Teacher Access

Each student's teacher will be accessible both online and by telephone during normal school hours on an e-learning day to assist students and parents.
